The community of Soatanana follows a unique Christian movement known as the Disciples of Jesus (Mpianatry Jesoa Kristy). It is a locally founded Protestant denomination established in the late 19th century by Rainisoalambo, a Malagasy spiritual leader. This movement blends Christian doctrine with Malagasy cultural values, emphasizing purity, humility, community service, and the visible expression of faith through white clothing, which symbolizes spiritual cleanliness. Their practice is deeply communal and spiritual, with regular gatherings for prayer, singing, and healing. The Disciples of Jesus are recognized for their peaceful lifestyle and commitment to moral integrity.
